The Office of the Prosecutor General has announced the completion of the first stage in the creation of the Unified Register of persons convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and sexual integrity of a minor. The registry serves as an automated electronic database, ensuring data collection, storage, protection, accounting, search, and summarization of information about individuals who have committed criminal offenses in this category. It aims to act as a deterrent against repeat offenses and currently contains information on over 600 offenders. Access to the registry will be granted to law enforcement officials, school and kindergarten directors, heads of regional administrations, and local government authorities. The registry includes individuals whose convictions for crimes have been lifted or extinguished according to the law.
